GIRL, EAT THE DAMN CHRISTMAS COOKIE!!!


Who are you kidding??? You know that if you take one look at the dessert table, you're doing to devour the entire spread.


This happens for 2 main reasons:


  1. YOU DON'T LIKE TO FEEL RESTRICTED. period.

  2. YOU LABEL CERTAIN FOODS AS "BAD"


So how exactly can you allow yourself to eat the Christmas cookie without eating the entire plate??? Here are 7 pro-tips!!!

  1. Eat a protein packed & nutrient dense meal beforehand - this will help you feel satisfied & satiated from your meal instead of feeling that post-meal-hunger from lack of nutrients

  2. Hydrate adequately throughout the day to manage false senses of hunger, & well....because its damn good for you

  3. Sleep well & get quality rest the night before - poor quality or lack of sleep increases the likelihood of having cravings, especially for sugar because our body is searching for quick energy that has been lost

  4. Make a "dessert plate" instead of grazing - if you're a natural grazer, grab a plate! This can help create the "illusion" of having what you need on a plate instead of passing by the table 8 times & grabbing another thing everytime you pass

  5. Eat the cookie, maybe even TWO!!! - just do it girl, eat the cookie & freakin enjoy it because it'll probably make you happy & you're allowed to enjoy yummy things

  6. Trade in judgement for curiousity - IF you chose to overinduldge on those desserts, COOL, GREAT, it's absolutely not the end of the world. Instead of shaming yourself for doing so, get curious instead, ask yourself why this might have happened?? Did you eat enough nutrient dense meals during the day? Are you dehydrated? Did you have a bad night of sleep? Are you stressed?? etc. There is NO reason to be asshole to yourself.


And remember, the "Christmas cookie" I'm talking about here is simply a symbol of the the other "bad" foods that we struggle to have control over or tend to overindulge on & feel guilty about afterwards. This applies to all seasons of life, like vacations, parties, & weddings, not just the holidays!


Moral of the story, be present, control the controllables, focus on those pro-tips, & just eat the damn cookie & love yourself for it!
